The gang joins cls!

Marcus Holmström started his entrepreneurial journey in 1997 when he co-founded Sweden´s first-ever SEO company, Webanalys. Despite the dot-com crash Marcus managed to keep the company alive, which later resulted in his first successful company exit.

Throughout the years Marcus has started and sold several companies in one way or another focusing on SEO. In 2018 Marcus decided to take a step back after selling, Web Guide Partner. The plan was to settle down and lay low for a while. However, it didn’t take long before Universal Music reached out asking him to create a game on the platform Roblox for the Youtubers Tomu and Yumi The start of what is now called The Gang!

First, tell us more about The Gang

The Gang is an international game development studio committed to developing world-leading, immersive gaming experiences. It was founded in 2020. The goal was to keep the number of employees down to 10 people. but through organic growth, we somehow ended up being 200 + active team members all over the world.

Why did you open a branch in Portugal?

In 2023 we introduced The Gang to the Portuguese market. We simply moved to Lisbon because it is a highly relevant and developed city for the tech industry. We saw the opportunity to more easily attract local and international competencies compared to our office in Sweden. Clients are more willing to visit us in Portugal and the housing situation for our team members in Lisbon is way less complicated than in Stockholm.   

What kind of clients do you work with? 

We work with market leaders and global brands. The international football association FIFA, Premier League, Vans, Gucci, Amazon, Spotify, Samsung, Warner Brothers, and DreamWorks, to name a few of them.
