On the 18th of March at 11.00-13.00 the CLS held its annual General Assembly. This year the General Assembly was held as a Webinar due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The President of the General Assembly, Bengt Lundborg, opened the General Assembly and greeted all participants welcome. This was followed by a short presentation from the Ambassador of Sweden to Portugal, Helena Pilsas, about the cooperation between the Embassy and the Chamber. The Embassy and the Chamber have during the last year started having biweekly meetings and working more together to promote Swedish – Portuguese economic relations.
The General Assembly then continued with a presentation made by the President of the CLS Board of Directors, Jennifer Ekström who recounted the CLS Annual Report for 2019. A year with a clear movement towards more collaboration with our corporate members. This is something that the CLS will continue working with during 2020 especially targeting areas such as sustainability, smart cities, and talent recruitment.
Carlos Oliveira, the CLS treasurer, gave a statement of the financial situation which showed that the Chamber holds a comfortable cash position with the ability to invest to develop the organization.
After the presentations as mentioned above, the voting’s commenced where the following items were approved:
- The Activity Report and Financial Report of 2019
- Change of bylaws to increase the number of Board of Directors to 7-13
- The Social Bodies and the Presidency of the General Assembly for Triennial 2020-2022:
- Presidency of the General Assembly
- Board of Directors
- Fiscal Committee
- The new structure of membership fees
- Activity Plan and Budget for 2020
