On Tuesday October 26th, CLS recieved 25+ executives from Sweden, enrolled in the 2020 and 2021 MBA at Stockholm Business School.
The visit is part of CLS annual collaboraiton with Stockholm Business School and Nova School of Business and Economics. The first visit took place in 2018 and has been part of one of CLS most appreciated gatherings ever since. After a postponed visit in 2020, we were all eager to welcome the new MBA executives to Lisbon!
CLS arranged various activities for the group during the week and we are happy to share some insights below.
The day started with a fruitful breakfast meeting at NOVA SBE with the presence of the Ambassador of Sweden to Portugal, Helena Pilsas, giving the executive visitors a background of history, politics and trade between Portugal and Sweden.
Thereafter the group had the pleasure to listen to a presentation from Jan Sköld at Universal Kraft on their strategy and how they operate to drive change to descentralized energy on the Portuguese Market.
Jan Skäld has a vast experience on renewable energy projects management, construction and financing. Jan shared his experience dealing with the whole value chain of the renewable sector within Europe but also Asia and the USA. As well as Universal Krafts take on the commercial solar, ranging from ground, rooftop and even solar parking installations, as well as energy storage and Hydrogen.
After the presentations CLS and the SBS Delegation had the opportunity to visit IKEA´s office, where Country Communication Manager Claudia Domingues shared IKEA´s strategy of creating a better life at home for the many Portuguese and how IKEA became a love brand in Portugal. Thereafter Customer Journey Leader Jennifer Ekström took the group on a store tour to share insights of the store and shopping experience, the Portuguese consumer behaviour and differences from a Swedish customer.
Ending the long and filled day CLS arranged a Networking Event at Altis Grand Lisboa, with Pedro Janela, CEO, founder, and co-owner, of WYgroup, focused on customer experience. Pedro is a Business Angel of more than 2M invested funds in seed capital and a lecturer at ISEG, ISCTE, novaSBE and Lisbon Digital School in the fields of Product and Branding Strategy, Digital Marketing and Innovation for Post Graduates and Executive Education.
Pedro gave a dynamic and highly inspiring talk upon human innovation and the importance of the human touch we all need to co-create and develop ourselves and our businesses. The digital solutions are the tools, the real value comes from the people!
Later during the week, we also had the opportunity to support a great lecture with CEO Sofia Vaz Pires and Head of Digital Services Nuno Roso from Ericsson Portugal upon the importance of a more connected, sustainable and equal environment in Portugal!
The MBA Executives did not rest and had a number of other lectures, company visits and insightful moments throughout their visit. A true week of human connection, hands-on agenda and possibliity to share learnings and best practices between the Swedish and Portuguese business communities.
