Ocean Community is one of the initiators and program leaders of the Blue Innovation Hub in Almada, Portugal. The main purpose of the Blue Innovation Hub is to embrace and infuse the Blue Economy in Portugal with global best practice innovation programs and practices to further scale sustainable blue solutions and projects, and to share ocean related knowledge. The incubator, hub and innovation programs will evolve under the name Innofuse Blue, Portugal.

Ocean Community leads the community-building, sharing knowledge, and fostering collaboration with other blue initiatives, through our DNA. We commit to out-of-the-box and into-the-ocean thinking, to building bridges and tearing down silos.
Our partner, South Shore Investments, provides the perfect location for an on-site incubator running acceleration programs by the Tejo river facing Lisbon.
Ocean Community commits to blue innovation; Enabling blue early-stage ideas, individuals, teams, and university partners, to develop sustainable concepts and prototypes with a promising solution potential.
Together with Innofuse Blue consortium partners we will connect the Blue Business Community and bring the world’s best practices and acceleration programs to Portugal and scale, sustainable solutions. Innofuse Blue will provide the specialised and proven acceleration required to take viable high potential ideas and solutions to the stages of investor readiness, scalability, and impact.
Together with our partners Almada Innovation District, Almada City Hall, our science partners Nova University Science and Tech, Egas Moniz School of Health and Science, and BraidTheory as our lead acceleration program partner, and in close collaboration with existing Blue initiatives in Portugal, such as BlueBioValue and Hub Azul/Forum Oceano, we now have the foundation to move forward to solicit partners and complete design- and implementation plans during Aug-Oct.
Initial focus will be on 5 innovation categories: Ocean Energy, Shipping and Ports, Future Food systems/Sustainable Aquaculture, Clean Marinas/Recreational Boating, Ocean Data and Tech.
