The CLS is thrilled to strengthen our board and welcome Paulo Coelho, Country Manager & VP Latin America at Anticimex Portugal. Paulo has a background in electrical engineering and has extensive experience from managing projects in technical maintainance in Portuguese, Danish, and now Swedish companies. Paulo's knowledege of the Portuguese market as well as proven success reccord from business development will be of great contribution to the CLS organization.
My name is Paulo Coelho, and I'm almost 49 years old. I was born in Almada (the right side of the Tagus River), where I still live. I live with three beautiful women: my wife Sofia, whom I've been married to for 20 years, and my two daughters, Inês (17 years old) and Rita (12 years old).
Personally, I love to travel, especially with my family for leisure, as I so much of business travel! I have a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, with over 20 years of experience in various fields related to facilities.
I started my professional career in technical maintenance at Siderurgia Nacional, where I worked for three years. This was clearly one of the greatest learning experiences of my professional career, and the people I worked with instilled in me a sense of responsibility and professionalism that I have always put first in every role I have held since then.
After that experience, I moved into Facility Services, joining the Danish multinational company ISS Facility Services, where I had the opportunity to hold various responsibilities. I started as a Business Unit Manager for technical maintenance, then became Maintenance Director, Regional Director, and finally Managing Director of the Cleaning Division, with a turnover of over 40 million euros and more than 5,000 employees.
In 2015, I had the opportunity to accept the enormous challenge of Anticimex to transform the Preventative Pest Control market in Portugal. At that time, Anticimex had a turnover of around 1.7 million euros and 40 employees. The objective was undoubtedly very ambitious: to double the turnover in four years.
Seven years into this adventure, the results are very positive not only for Anticimex but also in terms of personal learning and development. In 2022, Anticimex Portugal had a turnover of around 8 million euros and about 160 employees. These results and this development were only possible due to the excellent commitment and professionalism of all employees, those who have been with us from the first day and those who have joined the project after the 8 acquisitions made in recent years.
In the last year, I had the opportunity to add to Portugal's responsibilities, also Latin America, where the Anticimex group entered in 2020 through the acquisition of one of the leading companies in Colombia – Palmera Junior SAS.
I am thrilled to be part of the CLS Board, as I will have the opportunity to share my experience and learn from the experience of all members with the goal of adding value to CLS and its associates.
