IKEA Portugal achieved a sales growth of 4.5% in the financial year 2019 (1/09/2018 – 31/08/2019), along with the 5% growth announced by the Ingka Group for the same period. Solid and sustained growth across different channels, supported by investment in new touchpoints and new services aimed at improving brand convenience and accessibility.

In the financial year 2020, that has just started, IKEA Portugal is investing more than 6 million euros in lowering the home furnishing solutions prices and making services more convenient. Celebrating 15 years in the market, the Swedish root’s Company has a strong business plan to enable even more Portuguese to improve life at home, making functional, sustainable, good quality and beautiful design solutions more accessible.
Framed in its affordability strategy, IKEA is investing 6 million euros to lower the price of 185 products for all home areas, throughout the year, 130 of which are already available in stores and at IKEA.pt.
Having a focus on an integrated multichannel approach, IKEA is improving its services convenience.
In this context - after the success of the pilot project in Alegro Sintra – since October 17th IKEA has a Plan & Order Point in Rio Sul Shopping, in Seixal. In this area, customers will find professional and personalized support to plan home furnishing solutions, especially for the bedroom and kitchen.
Besides the opening of the first IKEA place on the south side of the Greater Lisbon area, the ambition is to create 14 new collection points throughout the country, operated by external partners where customers can pick up their online purchases, for 25€. Vila Real, Castelo Branco, and Palmela are opening this month, complementing Viana do Castelo and Leiria, already operating.
