On June 4th, the Head of the Europe and North America unit of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Cecilia Ruthström Ruin, visited the Embassy of Sweden in Lisbon. To welcome Mrs Ruthström Ruin, the Swedish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce together with the Embassy of Sweden in Lisbon and Business Sweden Iberia, took the opportunity to organize a meeting and introduce some Swedish enterprises operating on the Portuguese market.
The purpose of the meeting was to give the Head of Europe and North America unit insight into the Swedish business presence on the Portuguese market; what business opportunities exist here, what are the trade challenges, and highlight how the Embassy, CLS, and Business Sweden works with supporting bilateral trade between Sweden and Portugal.
The meeting started with, Carl Hermelin, Vice President of the Board of Directors, Swedish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, presenting the Portuguese Business Lanscape.
Later on, Eric Blomquist, Head of M&A Iberia. Business Sweden, presented the newly launched report: Portugal´s energy and green transition - Potential opportunities and partnerships for Swedish companies within Portugal’s energy sector.
Followed up by some brief company presentations from QueensLab Portugal, The Gang, and Ericsson Portugal. Introducing their hisorty, presence in Portugal, decision to establish in Portugal, as well as perceived challenges and opportunities on the market. The companies were represented by:
The meeting was wrapped up with an intresting discussion touching various challenges and opportunies on the Portuguese market.
