In May CLS will launch a new Webinar series to explore how to do business under the COVID-19 outbreak. For three consecutive weeks, starting Wednesday the 6th of May, we will explore different aspects related to business management. This webinar series aims to share insights and knowledge; to present and discuss strategies for dealing with different challenges faced by businesses as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The webinars will be held in Portuguese.
In the webinar series we will discuss the following topics:
1. “Enduring the Marathon” – How to show positive leadership and support the mental well-being of employees under the COVID-19 pandemic

Purpose: On the 6th of May at 9-10 AM (GMT) the CLS together with three panelists will discuss different ways to secure and promote the mental well-being of employees working from home and how to demonstrate positive leadership in times of uncertainty. How do you keep employees feeling safe and motivated to adapt to a world that is becoming progressively more uncertain? And which actions can be taken by management to support the well-being of employees?
This Webinar will be moderated by Anna Bergström, member of the Board of Directors of the CLS and responsible for Public and European Affairs at Galp Energia.
2. Teleworking, and the digitalization of business – how to operate remotely
Date/time: 13th of May, 09:00-10:00
Link to registration: Sign up here
Purpose: The current COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing quarantine have led to a technical leap towards teleworking. Consequently, companies now find themselves adapting to a new situation where the virtual is the new normal. What demands does this place on management to facilitate this transition? What investments in competence development are needed and what can be done to continue operations in this new form?
This webinar seeks to explore the decisions that management faces to adapt their organization to teleworking and the digitalization of business. This webinar will be moderated by Hans-Erhard Reiter, Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the CLS and President & CEO of linkedcare.
3. Breaking down the state aid schemes to support the Portuguese economy - what do they mean for businesses?
Date/time: 20th of May, 09:00-10:00
Link to registration: TBA
Purpose: In the third webinar in the CLS COVID-19 series, we will focus on the state aid schemes put forward by the Portuguese government to support the Portuguese economy in the context of the COVID-19 outbreak. The total support to the economy under these schemes amounts to 13 billion euros and will be available to both small and middle-sized companies and large businesses facing economic difficulties as a result of the current outbreak. To better understand what this entails, we want to invite our members to take part in a discussion on how these schemes can help businesses to cover their immediate working capital or investment needs to ensure the continuation of their operations.
This webinar will be moderated by Teresa Pala Schwalbach, member of the CLS Board of Directors and Senior Associate at Sérvulo & Associados.
The webinars are free and open to everyone, CLS members as well as non-members.
WELCOME!
