On September 21st, CLS held its third Board Meeting of 2021. The Board Meeting was, for the first time in over a year, held physically at the Residence of Ambassador Helena Pilsas. After 18 months of digital meetings, the CLS organisation were happy to meet in person. Let us share some insights!
The Chairwoman of CLS Board of Directors, Jennifer Ekström, opened the third Board Meeting of 2021 and welcomed all participants. Following, the Ambassador of Sweden to Portugal, Helena Pilsas, held a brief presentation about The Embassy´s work during the Portuguese EU Presidency that now has come to an end and the remaining work for 2021.
The Ambassador raised that 380 years of diplomatic relations between Sweden and Portugal will be celebrated this year. Ambassador of Portugal to Sweden,Sara Martins, thereafter introduced the activities of the Portuguese Embassy in Stockholm and their current focus and the joined efforts regarding the 380 years of diplomatic relations. Ambassador Sara Martins also informed about multiple minister visits from Portugal to Sweden are planned to take place during the remaining year.
The Board Meeting continued with a presentation by the Chairwoman of the CLS operations. The Report of the Chairwoman highlighted the events that have carried out during 2021; various webinars upon Moving to Portugal, Team Sweden digital visits to Swedish companies in Portugal and the multiple events that will be carried out the remaining year.
The annual visit from the MBA Executives of the Stockholm University of Business and Economics in the end of October, Websummit Swedish Afterparty in collaboration with Member Leaps, Embassy of Sweden and Business Sweden in the beginning of November and the annual Christmas lunch in December, jus to mention a few remaining events. The Chairwoman also raised that the CLS Sustainability Initiative (SI) will continuously be carried out through Talks, videos highlighting our members sustainability work and Webinars.
Carlos Oliveira, Treasurer of CLS, then gave a statement of the financial situation which demonstrated that the Chamber continue in a healthy cash position so far in the third quarter of the year, as stated also in our General Assembly in March 2021.
