I’m very happy and proud to say that Cisco Portugal was ranked as #1 Best Place to Work in Portugal by GPTW (Great Place to Work) – in the category of 100 to 500 employees in 2021!
One of the reasons that makes Cisco Portugal the best place to work is our culture of inclusion. We are powered by something called Employee Resource Organisations (EROs) which serve as a platform for diverse groups to connect, build powerful new relationships, explore their unique passions and talents, innovate, and excel.
I lead one of the EROs in Portugal; the Women of Cisco network. Our mission is to attract, develop, retain and celebrate talented women as part of a competitive and diverse workforce. Me and my core team are constantly aiming to develop our female talents and fight the unconscious biases. Our flagship event during the year is our Women of Impact event, that coincide with the International Women’s Day. This year it was 100% virtual, and we could access inspirational speakers, panel discussions, workshops and a variety of local activities across more than 20 countries! That day marked a call to action for accelerating gender parity as we came together to rally for women's equality!
The work does not end with this event, this is something that we continuously need to work on and I believe it is crucial that companies include Inclusion and Diversity in their agendas both to create a safe work environment, but also to be able to perform better!
